Gunfighter Diary Desert Shield 18 Aug 90

18 AUG 90

We’re now set up in a terminal at an airstrip in SA. We are safe, and we’re primarily concerned with setting up showers, getting chow, etc... No one has tried to “poke us in the eye” yet, or vice versa. Everyone made it here safely, and we have 2-3 days to do nothing but rest up and catch (hold) our breath. I have a nice tile floor in an air conditioned building to sleep in, but that may change as we grow in size. By then we’ll be used to the heat or on our way home. No word on that, either way. We’re settling in, waiting for our roles and rules of engagement to be defined. Clark of Arabia.
